Working While Waiting
With better knowledge of the Lord, seek to master your desires, learn to patiently wait upon him, and do what most pleases him.

We’re not called to stare at the skies,
While hours are wasted as dreams arise.
To wait upon God isn’t letting work cease.
It’s serving with faith and working in peace.
Before the clouds will bring the rain,
The farmer will till the thirsty plain.
He scatters seeds across his field,
Expecting God to bring the yield.
The servant listening for the King
Keeps doing each important thing.
He doesn’t fold his hands in pride.
He works like the King is at his side.
Idleness can be the devil’s workshop,
Where God’s work sees a sudden stop.
The devil loves an empty chair,
A life untouched by work or prayer.
So while we seek the Spirit’s voice,
We still must work by faithful choice.
We do the good that we can see,
And walk in humble loyalty.
Be about the Father’s care,
In simple acts and earnest prayer.
For those who wait the proper way
Still serve the Lord throughout the day.
